028 - Mixing Bass Guitar

I shot a bunch of videos last month - and am finally finishing up the editing! This was really fun stuff to put together because I’m mixing tracks from a live show on an Avid S6L, which I’ve been touring with a ton this year.

The video here looks at the bass guitar, which is only part of a full band. And it definitely can be a difficult instrument to deal with.

Of course, every mixing situation is different, and no two bass players sound alike. We always have to use our ears first! But this at least shows you the general direction I usually start with.
