049 – Headlining Pitchfork Festival With Haim
I give you a behind-the-scenes look at prepping for a big music festival.

A couple of weeks ago, I did a show in Chicago with a regular client of mine, Haim, to headline the first night of the Pitchfork Festival. Since I used to live out there, it’s always fun to go back and see some old friends.
Since Haim hasn’t been playing many shows this year, we went out to LA for a few days of rehearsals before the actual festival. We set up in a production rehearsal studio with all of the audio gear we use (mics, stands, consoles, wireless IEMs, etc.) so that we could properly prep the show.
All the gear for the rehearsals was provided by one of our regular audio providers, 8th Day Sound. This includes the Avid S6L console I was using and the DigiCo SD12 that Chip uses for mixing monitors. At the festival, we used a local audio company to provide these consoles for our dedicated use during the show.
